Looks like a typical, normal 1980s car to me. So what?

Here's my first car:
...

It's a 1996 Chevy Camaro T-Top 3.8L (V6).  I got it when I was a sophomore in high school back in February of 2000.  When I got it, it had very low mileage for its age-about 24,000 miles.  It was a great car to drive in high school and has served me well in college as well.  It currently has about 41,000 miles on it (that should tell you that I don't do THAT much driving.   Wink).

don't have a car yet

but if i have the money: ex-army Land Rover 88 Lightweight. usually in a better shape than the english ones, as the dutchies didn't try out the airdrop features.

UAZ would be nice too, but spares and certification are a problem in europe altough i have seen a fairly new one driving around in northern spain... which is landy heaven by the way

Wow quite the selection. Ok I may be Irish but I only was there for six months before we moved to America, so what's the standard new car to get your kid over there?

How does it feel getting passed by 70-year old ladies in their Benz on the Autobahn? Grin How fast can it go?

It's a honest car. The speedo ends at 160kph and that's where I've already put the needle on the Autobahn on a straight and level part. I just love that masterpiece of japanese engineering!
Sorry, in 90% of the cases I'm the one who's overtaking old people in their Benz.

And the guys that make me freak out the most on the Autobahn are BMW drivers, who claim to rule the left lane. A kingdom for an anti-tank missile....  Roll Eyes

My first car was a 1982 Ford Fiësta 1.0. Fitted with a 1.1 liter engine. Four cilinders roaring from the broken exhaust. Driven it for about two years. Sold it for more money than I bought it for.

Currently owning a 1992 Renault Clio 1.2 which is a light weight version (because of the holes the rust made in it).

Crash Wink

Basically you don't get your kid a new car. Usually they are over five years old and have all the power of a hairdryer. If anyone has anything better then it implys either that they child is horribly spoilt, or that they have saved up for something they really want.

I've got an ancient 106. I was hoping my sister would write it off before I got it. But alas no. Oh well, learn to drive in it then start saving for a Land Rover...

what kind: classic series or new one (defender). FYI: the new spanish version (Santana PS10 / Hannibal) has a better seat position and is a little cheaper
