not sure whats the problem, but it looks like there might be a typo in gmax, or a filename maybe....

that sort of thing happens to me a lot Tongue

Woody,

The $vc.bmp only applies to the vcockpit/Interior model.  In the exterior model you must use a 2D panel bmp that would be stored in the texture folder.

EDITed to unconfuse the statement. Smiley and me, and Woody ... sorry.  Smiley

Hi milton !

the 2d cockpit its ok milton

its my exterior vccockpit view the probleme  ???
whene im siting in my vc cockpit in interior view all its ok
i see instrument at day and night and the detail of my panel was there to

but whene i switch to exterior view
i can't  see the panel becose its hiding by the vc cockpit texture  or the vc_l.bmp texture Sad Sad Sad

i realy dont enderstand  Sad

becose its was ok last years ???

if i  take off the texture in the panel .cfg
the panel can be see at exterior view
so i have erase the panel texture in my panel.cfg
then made a  panel back ground in gmax whit my dummy texture like your tutorial   whit my $vctexture incluing the vc_l.bmp texture  in

and now i see the panel at day but at night the i see a black  *_l.bmp texture and the panel  was hiding again ?

here the listing of my panel.cfg

[Vcockpit01]
have erase the vc01.bmp texture here and have made a background in gmax whit a texture on it now the trouble is only at night whit the *_l.bmp texture.

I was referring to the Exterior model, not the 2D panel. Smiley  The 2D panel has nothing to do with the Exterior panel.  I think I confused you. Smiley

I had it work as well from the exterior.

My cockpit was part of the main model, not an interior model and the dynamic texture still worked.

Wasn't nice on FR though. Smiley

In Tower or Spot view, the exterior model is shown.  Any inside panel should be part of the exterior model.  The Interior model is not shown from the Spot view so the VC panel, vcockpit panel.cfg entries and $vc.bmp's are not used.  You can use a static bmp here from the texture folder, and a light map to light it at night.

From Spot view, press S.  Now you are in 2D panel mode.  The 2D panel is not part of either the Exterior or Interior model.

Press S, in VC mode, the Interior model is shown.  The Exterior model is not visible here.

If you need working gauges in the Exterior model, then they must be part of the exterior model and the background bmp must be applied to the Exterior model Panel.

This is simply my understanding but (it may be wrong and) something different may work for you.  I have not done a small aircraft with working gauges in the Exterior model.  Good luck. Smiley

Hi silverfox
What do you mean by your cockpit model was part of the main model not in the interior model can you explain more in detail how you make the vc cockpit model

whene i do a vc cockpit i apply a $vc texture on a dummy plane in the exterior model and also in the interior model like the the jenny sdk ?
