Hi,

You'll need to have ATC turned on in the Options>Setting menu, then open the ATC window with the ' (apostrophe) key.  You'll then get the option to call the tower etc. and auto-tune to the right frequency.

Yeah, I got that part, but when I bring the atc window up and try to contact the tower, there is no response. It doesn't let me talk either.

My guess, you programmed a panel mounted radio into your panel.cfg

Just like in the real world, a panel mounted radio must have a power supply.

This is done in the [Electrical] and [Radios] sections of the 'aircraft.cfg' file. Edit the section like this.

[electrical]
max_battery_voltage =24
generator_alternator_voltage = 24   //this you can leave 0 for realism, but btty may wear down over time.
avionics = 3, 5 , 17.0 //the 3 places the radio on a hot battery lead, so no other switches are needed.

Then look for the [Radios] section. Edit to

[Radios]
Com.1= 1, 0  //= 1,1 if standby freq. is available

Should then be good to go.

Cheers,
Dave

As always, back up any file before editing.

The //'s and text after can be deleted as these are comments, disregarded by the sim.
