(Moved to the photos forum so these can have a better "viewing"  ... plus generate much more feelings of envy amongst those of us who wish they could have a PPL...)

Nice Shots, Nice Plane.
I wish I had my own plane.

This is my first airplane ... I have to say that while it's great to have it ... it's got its moments.

Repair bills are quite stiff ... and stuff tends to break for no reason (the VOR1 for example decided to crap out 2 months ago and I can't find a mechanic that would put his hands on it cause ... it's "too small" of a job ... the work only on thousands of dollars type of jobs).

It's great fun when everything works though ...

You can own your own plane and you don't have to have the plane I have ... to have fun.

An Aeronca Champ flies nicely, is a lot of fun and costs 25k ... less than most cars. And it runs for less than most cars (it carries only 2 people but in 2 years of flying the only person that ever came with me is my wife and she only comes once every 2 months ... ).

All in all stick and rudder and fabric planes are a lot of fun too ...

yeah maintenance is quite a hassle.

I try to fly twice a week ... 4-5 hours a weekend is my goal but I rarely get close to it. 2 hours a weekend is really the bet average I get.

Weather has a lot to do with it ...
