Well it's another sad day in the 737 world. The first 737 built without those cute little "eyebrow" windows is finished and destined for Southwest any day now (aircraft N201LV). Southwest is going to plug all existing eyebrow windows on their 737s. Will save a lot in maintanence costs. I'm pretty sure Boeing has discontinued the eyebrow windows and all future 737 off the line will be without them.

Those things gave the 737 character. ANOTHER thing I'm going to have to get used to...

I agree the 737 looks "naked", but also gives it a cleaner modern look. Besides those windows has no functional use nowadays and they could be a pain when the sun was shining right through them.
And not to mention it reduces the overall weight with a whooping 20lbs
And you may know this since you are in that line of work; they usually needs to be replaced every 2nd year or so, due to delamination.
I think this is the first post about that subject, despite being 1 ½ month ago it was anounced? We are getting sloppy

Haha yeah. Well I know from hearing from some of the maintenance folks that they really are a pain in the arse and do need to be routinely replaced...and replacing them isn't fun.
And yes, they serve absolutely no usefull purpose anymore and from talking to pilots, they usually put stuff up there to cover them anyway to keep the sun out of their eyes.
Anyway, yeah I know this has been out there for a while. Just thought since the very first 737 finally rolled off the line without the windows that it was time to finally bring it to this board.
