Yesterday I went to Schiphol airport to spot some planes. I took more than 500 photos. Here are some examples.
These are taken in the morning at the "Polderbaan". Later I'll post more photos I took at the other side of the field.

Wow! #2 is really nice! What kind of camera and lens are you using? For even better results you may want to put a polarizing filter on that lens. Go to this site to see what I mean:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+&&GeForce FX5200 256Mb&&1GB DDR400 DC&&Seagate 500Gb SATA-300 HDD&&Windows XP Professional X64 Edition
&&&&That's right, I'm now using an AMD! I decided to give them another try and they kicked the pants off of my P4 3.4!

I know that, but I'm not going to buy a filter now. In march or april, I'm gonna buy a new lens which is bigger than the one I have right now (EF75-300) so if I buy filters for this one, I can't use them on my new one.
and thanks for the replies guys!

I'm flying out of Schiphol in the first week of March... any chance you can get a shot of my flight leaving?
It's around 1:30 pm.
Great shots, BTW.

No allas. Schiphol is 140km away from me. I only go there a few times a year... Schiphol sees me back in April when I don't have to go to school due to Easter.

Amazing how close you can get! I know you are using a zoom Ken but still, very nice. It is very hard to get close to any airport runways here in America anymore. Last time I was at JFK on the top of the parking garage, I was just set up to start shooting and the police pulled up and asked me why I was taking pictures. I told them I like it, it is a hobby and the two of them could not understand!
So I went home..........

In fairness Dave, those two probably have a much different hobby, ......something very exciting...........
................Like watching paint dry or ......watching the grass grow on the front lawn....

Indeed Dave, Schiphol is famous when it comes to 'getting close to the action'! When you want to shoot a 747 when it's right in front of you, you need less than 75mm to get it from tail to nose. At some spots where they turn on the runway, you are so close, the pilots often wave at you.

Did you know that Schiphol has a McDonald's restaurant next to one of their runways. You see and hear (!) the planes land at about 200 meters while eating your Big Mac. I like to go there and watch the action going on. Next time I will post some pics of it here.
