Ok so I just rebuilt my computer and I have a question. I reinstalled FS2004, turned it on. Hello 15FPS. Blah Tongue ...so new graphics card I guess...why not it's a good excuse? So I need suggestions for graphics card, a balance of power and price that would allow me to turn up FS2004. Thanks for the help.

Gosh!  Wink  What frame rate would you like to have?  Some ppl like 25 fps; others higher than that.   Here is my specs on my system:

Pentium 4
1.8 ghz/2.0 Gig RAM/GeoForce 4 128MB/MS ForceFeedback 2/4 x 80Gig HD's

I know this configuration is probably excessive for getting adequate performance out of FS9 but I have a professional audio/video studio to run, as well  Tongue

But one thing that I am confident about in this forum is that really good answers/questions are pronounced here.  Congrats on your upgrade!  Cheesy

I had a ATI Rage Fury graphics card, it could get 40-50 FPS outta 2002 easy with settings maxed, but FS2004 is boggin' it down to no limit. Right now I have all the settings on 2004 way way down, it looks like crap...defeated the entire purpose of getting it. Eh either way, suggestions?

ATi Rage is way too weak for FS9 you need atleast an FX5200 to get some performance out of it.  Although what you can get really depends on your budget?

nVidia cards work best with M$ products as a rule (nothing to do with them making the graphics chips for X-Box or anything Roll Eyes)
Best to look at the Ti5xxx range methinks Wink

Well...I would like to be able to pull 25-30 frames per second down with it (the human eye can only see 31 so no point in more) with the settings way up if not max. Money isn't really an issue...I mean I ain't gonna drop insane amounts of money, but I am more than willing to pay for the performance.

Ozzy, the Ti5xxx...gimme a price estimate.

The geforce 4 Ti series is extremely outdated. SO is the Geforce FX 5*** series.

For the best in performence for its price, I suggest the Nvidia 6600 GT (Its comes in both agp and PCI-e).

I go along with what autopilot said, go for a 6600GT.

Doesn't hurt to have 1gig ram for FS9 either (if you have XP) but I would say upgrading your g/card will offer better results at the moment over your existing card.

Actually it uses DX 8.1 graphics and DX 9.0 sounds.

Which makes it a dx9 game overall because it needs dx9 in some form to work at its fullest.

Of course, you can run fs9 on ageforce 4 mx card....don't exspect miracles.
