Well, it wouldn't be a small-airport airshow without some cornball comedy, so here's the ol' "Flying Farmer" bit. The setup: a farmer is mowing the grass on a tractor, disrupting the show, so he's offered a Cub ride if he'll stop. While taxiing, the tailwheel gets stuck, the pilot gets out to fix it, and off goes the farmer... solo!
...
The announcer tries to talk him down: "Look out for the trees!   Hey, you can't fly a Cub sideways..!"
...
"You can't loop a Cub either..." yes, he goes all the way around...
...
Finally lands, but the "pilot" has to grab the strut to get him stopped... whew!
...
Of course, it's really the Cub maestro Roger Lenhert... awesome slow aerobatics!

It's something else. There are a couple of guys in my area who do the "Flying Farmer" routine; both in stock J3s. It's not easy... try looping the FS9 J3 sometime and see if you can keep the nose straight over the top... whew!
There's more Cub antics from Sussex '94 coming up soon...
