Ok I have both CFS2 and CFS3 neither . . . i repeat neither of them respond to dropping any ordanance by presssing ENTER.  I even tried to configure my MS ForceFeedback 2 to drop them . . . nothing ???

Also, I would like to understand how do we fly a bomber straight and level and on line to the target without an autopilot.  I jump to a gunner seat and the plane begins to stray even after pressing the proper command to engage auto trim features.  After a quick jump into the bombadier position to look thru the bombsight again the plane stays and leaves me rushing to clamour into the pilot seat and fly.

Ike is not ....... i repeat not happy with me as I am unable to complete any missions that require ground attack with anything other than strafing; which burns up a lot of bullets.  I am his biggest expense in machine gun rounds shot from my fighter Tongue

Computer specs:
Windows XP Professional
1.8 ghz Pentium 4
2.0 Gig RAM
128 Ram Video Card

Any and all replies would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Knight57 do not dispair. It took me a while before I figure it out. Their is a Autopilot available thru CFS2. you just have look for it. Start the game and go to settings. From there go command assignments. Scroll down and look for the Autopilot. Assign a Key board for it. I chose caps Lock. You chose whatever you want . Its your choice.

Another Idea is for you to install this wonderful program call Weather Cfo Weather 7.5.6.It not only lets change the weather in the middle of a mission but it also has a Auto Pilot available and many other nice features.

You can find here: http://www.cfsops.com/Modules/cfo_weather/Cfo_Weather_75.htm

Enjoy and go happy Bombing.
I hope I have been helpful.

James007 PS I would like to here from you?

With CFS3, and in a level bomber like the B-17, B-25, B-26, you have to make sure that you are flying straight and level at correct mission altitude, and pointing at the target, before you move to the Bombardier seat.
Most good missions allow you to warp to the Initial Point of the Bomb run, so you should be set up when you come out of warp, and only need a little elevator trim adjustment to keep you flying smoothly.
If you are at the wrong altitude and speed, the AI pilot will immediately attempt to correct that when you jump to a gunner seat, but then why do you jump to a gunner seat in a Bomb run?
Once you are straight and level, and the target is beginning to pass under you, jump to the Bombardier seat. As Bombardier, you are now in charge of the aircraft, and must do the following:

1. Zoom out the view so you can see the target
2. Make sure the Bombsight crosshair is visible - it's the same key that brings up the cockpit view.
3. Open the Bomb Bay Doors
4. Select the Payload/Weapons
5. Make minor adjustments to keep the target lined up with stick, rudder, or differential throttle. It's useful having the HUD up at this point, because your attitude indicator is essential.
6 When the target passes under the centre of the crosshair, hit the Bomb release button, and keep hitting it until all the Bombs have gone. You can see the Bombs counting down on the right-hand HUD text.
7. Close Bomb Bay Doors
8. Return to Pilot Seat and egress area
9 Or watch the Bombs drop from the Bomb-view key

If you do not have keys assigned to these actions, then you need to go into settings and assign them.

I'm glad to be of help.
It's a shame that sometimes the game documentation isn't sufficient to make certain aspects of the Sim as clear as they should be. One is forced to learn by trial and error.
In CFS3, I'm still unsure about deploying torpedoes, so the Campaign becomes almost impossible to play for me, because destroying shipping seems essential. Instead, I fly bombing runs which I have learnt to do, but the enemy convoys continue to push the front line inexorably forward, and no matter how hard I hit the Third Reich's infrastructure, I am still doomed. The success of  a player campaign still seems to rest on the player undertaking multi-roles in multi-aircraft, rather than allowing brilliance in one aspect.
However, there is still huge satisfaction in flying single missions, and getting results and medals, so one cannot complain too much.
I appreciate everything I learn from this board, and it's good to give something back, and find that it is in turn appreciated.
