Quick pic taken from our balcony. The smoking chimneys in the background belong to the BASF in Ludwigshafen. If you look very closely, you can even see the autobahn (A5).

Nice shots ATI, for some reason that house in the second shot just has Germany written all over it!

So Ludwigshafen am Rhein! I always assumed you'd be from the former Eastern part of Germany.

I once did a trip from Belgium to Radolfzell am Bodensee and Donaueschingen. Kinda passed by your front door...  Grin

Nice to see your surroundings...  Wink

Yes,I was born in eastern Berlin, but we moved here in 1994. We'll be moving away from here after my graduation this year (July/August). My parents are moving to Hannover, but I don't know where it'll take me. Maybe Berlin or Bremen, depending on where I want to study.

Jrpilot, yes it's a contrail indeed. Not sure where it comes from (maybe Frankfurt), but sometimes, depending on sky conditions, I can see aircraft taking off from Frankfurt (at least until they've reached FL100 and switched off their landing lights).
Oh, and aircraft inbound for EDFM (Mannheim) (Dash 8, Do 328, Business Jets)  are usually roring directly over our school. We also have a lot of Blackhawks flying around here (from the US headquarters in Heidelberg or Coleman in Mannheim).
