I am using CFS1 on windows XP, everything seems to work fine except my auto rudder which is supposed to work in unison  with  the ailerons. I have tried everything that I know of but can't figure it out. I have made sure the enable box is checked. Please help .

thanks ???

Auto-rudder is used only if you have a standard 3-axis joystick (ailerons, elevator, throttle) without a separate rudder control or use the keyboard to fly with. It links the rudder to the ailerons to help coordinate turns & so you can steer on the ground. A joystick with separate rudder control makes a big difference in both FS & CFS.

I seem to have trouble getting the keyboard to work also. The rudder is supposed to work with the NUM 0 and NUM Enter. It works on the ground but not when in the air.

If you're using keyboard for rudder I take it you don't have a joystick with separate rudder control. In this case you would need to disable Auto-rudder. When it's enabled the rudder is controlled by the ailerons. You can steer on the gound with the roll axis on the joystick or the aileron key commands (NumPad 4 & 6).

If you're thinking of dogfighting, may I suggest getting a joystick similar to the one described above and disabling auto-rudder completely.
It's not as responsive as you can make it with your stick and (certainly online) you'll be easily outmaneuvered by many opponents who don't use it and perform much tighter turns.
