Neither.

Get Vietcong and the Fist Alpha expansion. It's the only FPS I know of where you have the option to fix bayonets. Grin Not to mention it having some of the best scenery and graphics i've seen in a game.

Woodlouse2002 PITA and BAR!!!!!!!!&&&&Our Sovereign Lord the King chargeth and commandeth all persons, being assembled, immediately to disperse themselves, and peaceably to depart to their habitations, or to their lawful business, upon the pains contained in the Act made in the first year of King George the First for preventing tumults and riotous assemblies. Or UT2004 and Red Orchestra. Or Joint Operations. One hundred fifty people on a server speaks for itself.  8)

I must also add that it runs on my computer. Rare for a game that comes out these days. Grin

Half life 2. Runs great on almost all computers.

There is no other.

IF you've got the hardware, it's gfx are simply orgasmic, lacking better vocabulary.

I've got the hardware but I don't feel a great urge for playing it.

I seriously doubt whether my computer comes close to meeting even the minimum requiremts to run that game.

Post them and I can tell you.

I've seen it run decently on a geforce 2. Even with the gfx toned all the way down, it is still very good.

700mhz
geforce4 ti4200 (the only thing that's kept my computer going)
256mb ram
winxp

I know HL2 won't work on my pc because I don't actually have a DVD drive. So I fall down at the first hurdle. That is to say, installation. Grin

I'd plumb for Battlefield 1942 with the Desert combat mod, alas, as I've been recently deprived of my home and posessions, the sad cow seems to have shot down that idea!

As for the above, neither given the third option of FS9.

Your computer is fine. It will work fine. You'll have to tone it down a bit, but it'll be fine. You don't need a DVD for hl2 to work. Just buy using Steam and then download it (its all legal). See here for more info:

Did I forget to mention my 56k modem? And steampowered pretty much sums up my machine. It makes enough noise anyway. Grin

AFAIK,there's a Half-Life 2 verion on CD only. But I really wouldn't recommend running it on Woody's machine.

System requirements:
CPU with 1.4 Ghz
512 Mbytes RAM
4 Gbytes for the installation

Stick to Vietcong,Woody. And for a change, try Operation Flashpoint. Old,but kicking ass nevertheless. And there's a Falklands-mod in the works for it... Wink

Sounds good.

One thing I have recently discovered though is this...
On the Vietcong Fist Alpha Cd there is the demo for Hidden and Dangerous 2. "Fantastic!" I thought. Even though when I looked at the system specs on the game I thought "that'll never run on my system". Anyway, I installed the demo, fired it up and voila! It runs fine. Better than Vietcong. Now i'm wondering, do game demo's reflect how a full installation will run on a computer? Or should I not even contemplate buying the full game?

Now, Operation Flashpoint, do you have the option of having the gun in the lower right hand corner of the screen, and the option of looking down the sights when you want to aim accurately? Cause if not, then i'm afraid I won't appreciate it enough to buy it.
