Heh, don't be Smiley

I got my discovery flight on my 15th birthday, absolutely the best present as well (I was finally started on my future career) and I too was nervous about ****ing up. But alas, I had a great, great instructor and once I got up into the air, I immediately knew I was a natural.  All those things you were thinking about when you were on the ground?  Your are completely, 100% focused on what you are doing up in the air and forget all the worries you had.  Besides, ther's a CFI right next to you-what can go wrong?  I have now been taking lessons for 3 months, will solo on my 16th birthday and get my license on my 17th. It'll be fun, gaurenteed, have a blast  Grin

It's your first time...you will make mistakes, it's inevitable, and the instructor obviously knows this. It's his job to correct you  Cheesy

Just look at Smurf hole, he admits he's a natural of making mistakes.    Wink

Hi ALSA Smiley

I am not sure this is an introductory flight or your first logged hour of flight towards your private pilots licence.

Either way listen to the instructor and spend more time looking out the window than at the instruments.

You will enjoy the flight more by looking outside and controlling the aircraft by visual reference.

I don't know whether you have rode a bike or not but when the aircraft rolls left you lean left and when it rolls right tend to lean right.  Take some gum and above all don't be afraid to ask questions, don't worry about making a mistake and above all else have fun...enjoy it Wink

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

LOL Nexus, I think you've corrected about half of them right here on the forums  Tongue

btw-something to think about; flight simmers make awful, awful VFR pilots and the best damn IFR pilots you'll ever see.  It took me 5 hours to learn to look outside the aircraft and fly it that way, learn what 85 kts LOOKS like, not stare at the airspeed indicator and chase the dial.  When I did my basic attitude instrument flying lesson I nailed it, NAILED it.  I am literally ready for my instrument rating before my PPL  Roll Eyes Just keep that in the back of your head, don't always be staring at the instruments-ESPECIALLY when you're in the traffic pattern (aye, almost had a few accidents there)
