Hey there,
Like I predicted here I am coming to you all with a problem that I'm assuming is of my my own making.... QC Editor will not work, after I finish, the game won't work.   My game will only work with the original QC file from the CD.   The game just goes black when I try to enter quick combat.    Have I just missed a big red glowing button that says FINISH or something like that?
VERY thankful for any assistance youcan provide,
                        Chainsaw

Chainsaw. Which QC Editor are you having trouble with? Try   CFS Quick Combat Editor v2.2.0 (JSQCEd) here. http://www.simviation.com/cfs1utilitites4.htm
I've been using this utility for both CFS1 & CFS2 since it was first released with no problem.

To use JSQCEd you must first select the version of CFS from File/Open. If this is the first time you've used it click the "New CFS Location" option then browse & select the CFS1 main directory folder. Click OK then select an aircraft from the "Select Aircraft Folder" drop-down menu. Finally, select Fighter or Bomber in the Family box before clicking Apply. Exit JSQCEd & run CFS1. Go to QC & you should find the aircraft you just added in the Enemy Aircraft list.

That's fine if you want all your installed aircraft on the Enemy Aircraft list. JSQCEd allows you to add (or remove*) just the ones you wish. It also allows you to add them to different categories like All Bombers or create your own. The latest version works with CFS1 and/or CFS2 & multiple installations of both. It's a very handy little utility.

*PS. I haven't tried it but I suspect deleting aircraft from CFS without removing them from the QC database could cause problems & error messages.

that might be it... I dropped a couple of cobras like a bad habit because they caused all kinds of system problems, I probably screwed it up that way I'll try it again thanks
