How can I change the ATC Voices, I do not want my downloaded planes to be called experimental or N700oms.

November-seven-zero-zero-mike-sieara... Its doesn't have much of a ring to it at all really. When you select your plane in the sim theres a box called callsign or ATC or something like that.... Its the bottom box in there. Failing that its in the aircraft.cfg:

Quote:
atc_id=D014HG

A good idea for a callsign: First initial: D age with a '0' in front of it: 014 and then your other two initials: HG. There you go - D014HG!!  Grin lol...

lincswlo,

ATC will call you "experimental" if the atc_type is wrong or missing. Downloads will sometimes get this wrong.

Look in your aircraft.cfg file. Under the section named {General}, you should see atc_type and atc_model. If not, they should be added.

Example: For a Boeing 747-400, atc_type=Boeing; atc_model=B744. When talking to ATC, you will identify yourself as ". . . . . is type Boeing 747 . . "

Also, under the listing for each aircraft, all airliners must have an identifier such as atc_airline=Northwest and atc_flight_number=923 (your choice). I believe that if no atc_airline is provided, you will be called by the name in your atc_id, such as atc_id=N700MS.

I have a list of the atc_type and atc_model that are available in FS2002, but don't remember where I got them. Sorry. Maybe someone else will give you a reference.

In the meantime, if you want to identify some of your aircraft that need proper names, just list them here on the forum and I'll do what I can.

Regards,
JerryH

I just sent you a file that has all of the available callsigns and aircraft type for FS2002.  It's 33k zipped if anyone else wants a copy (email or pm me).

Asher,

My last response to you came back marked "no such address".  So here are the default airlines.  Let me know when you get a good address that can accept a zip file (it has manufacturers, aircraft types).

Airlines Recognized by ATC (post SDK)

With matching Text and Recorded sound:

This information must be inserted in your aircraft.cfg file. This is the entry atc_airline= in the [fltsim.n] section(s), where n is a number from 0 to n depending on how many liveries/airlines you have made for the given aircraft.

The spelling must be accurate, so pay attention. Make sure you check the whole list, as FS2002 makes the difference between US Air and US Air Shuttle, for example.  There are 190 airlines recognised by ATC, including the virtual ones.

Note: if you leave the atc_airline information blank in your aircraft.cfg file, ATC will call you by your aircraft manufacturer and tail registration (like when flying a Cessna Skyhawk for example). If you put an invalid entry, ATC will skip the text and sound and will only call your flight number.
