Hi All..!
I have Mozilla Firefoz and Internet Explorer 6 sitting on my desktop.
My query is: Many times when I select a site with Internet Explorer 6 the page comes up BLANK with the report "Done" at the bottom left-hand side of the page*...?
I have pop-ups allowed, Cookies allowed, Security set to medium, Active X controls running, no Firewalls, etc....
The only way I can access these sites (to fill the page), is by using Firefox..!
Why should I be having these problems with Internet Explorer...?

Many thanks...!

Paul.

*Example: trying to access the "Dictionary" on the Forum always fails...blank page!

P.S. I find that IE has a better text editor than Firefox, so IE is my preferred Browser if I need to use text... Wink...!

Also Fozzer check to make certain that the page you are trying to access isn't a PDF, when ever I see the word "Done" in the lower left and a blank screen I look up in the address bar and notice http:// blahblahblah/pdf   or something like that, check and see if "pdf" is in the address somewhere.
Although Dictonary.com isn't a pdf site so I wonder about that?

With IE your making a death sentence for yourself Wink

I just tried going to the dictionary link from SimV using IE6 and had no trouble, so uncertain what is happening on your end, but that is the first time in awhile I used IE and now I know why, SLOOOOWWW!! and even though pop-ups are blocked I got 8 just going from the SimV home page, to the forums then to Dictionary.com, Firefox rocks who the hell cares about text editing, im editing this here on Firefox and notice no problem Wink  Grin

Hi Jeff...!
I reduced my security* in the hope of getting IE to recognise my "problem" sites!
Mozilla Firefox is infinitely slower in opening pages than my IE. It takes ages to download all the picture files, bit by bit, from top to bottom of the page...!
(But it does cure my site access problems)..!
Also...
Have you noticed that in the text editor on Mozilla the "smilies" have to be inserted as the message progresses. They cannot be inserted when the message is completed. The completed message cannot be edited!
...and the text cursor is always in the centre of the character, not off-set like a normal text editor..!!
This does not happen with the IE Browser!
I have both IE and Mozilla on my desktop, and I select which one I want to use, depending upon any site access problems I come across..!

Cheers...!

LOL...!

It appears that your problems are the exact opposite that I experiance .
