Hi yaw

I'm redoing an existing airport uesins FSSC. I have redon the runway, and added 2 new runawys, but AFCAD is still showing the def. airport.  How do I get AFCAD to recognize a new airport? So I can ues AFCAD to put in the aprons, and taxiways?

I assume this is FS9. I don't know if this will work on an update to an existing airport. Adding a Menu Entry in FSSC (New Misc Object/Menu Entry) will list the runway or starting point on the FS9 "Search Add-on Scenery" menu. Use the Open File feature in AFCAD to find the new BGL & open it. You can then add the proper FS9 menu entry, taxyways etc. You can use as many Menu Entries in your project as you wish.

Did you add the FSSC Menu Entry & export it before trying it? It worked fine for me when I created a new airstrip some time ago. I added parking ramps & had vintage light aircraft flying around the circuit. I would need to try a test piece to find out exactly what I did but I'm sure my advice is basically correct.

PS. Hmmm. I just tried a quick test piece with the same result as you. Back to the drawing board. Sorry. I must be missing something. I know it worked before. ???

Thanks for the reply.

The area that I'v been working on has a runway, and thas it, and alot of tree around it. Os I need to clear the trees, and add a flatarea. Thas what I did, and addit 2 more runways, a terrani mesh, and a apron uesing fssc. It lock good, but AFCAD just shows the def runway. Heres the airport id (AYVN) that I'v been working on. Maybe you mite have better luck with it. If so pleeae let me know what you did.

I'll have a play around when I'm in the mood. I need to be in the mood for this stuff. I haven't used FSSC or AFCAD in anger for some time now. I unfortunately lost the airstrip I mentioned when my HD fried some time ago. I couldn't work up the enthusiasm to start all over again.

RollerBall tells me that Airport for Windows is now better than FSSC for FS9. He's far more up-to-date on this stuff than me. http://www.airportforwindows.com/

There's other utilities posted on the site that apparently work very well. I haven't tried any of them as FS9 only just runs on my antiquated machine & it would be a waste of effort. Over the last few years I've tried to keep abreast of developments & learn the basics of most freeware programs & utilities but I never claimed to be a serious scenery designer.

I have downloaded SceneGenX it was on the Airports for Windows website. It's Airports for Windows, but for FS9. I have been useing FSSC, and I'm getting the hang of it. Can anyone tell me how to set up SceneGenX the pathways, and such?
