Very interesting Paul. I was going to ask you about the Leslie speaker cabinets. A Hammond ain't a Hammond without them.
I found this site with some facts you may or may not know about the strange relationship between Laurens Hammond & Don Leslie. I certainly didn't. You learn something new every day.
PS. Oops, I forgot the link. My old Mum always said I'd forget my head if it wasn't screwed on.
Here ya go.

Hi Doug...
...!
You will be pleased to know that I have taken over Reginald Dixon's old job at the Blackpool Tower...playing the Hammond twice nightly to a packed audience...
....!
I used to play at the Brighton Pavilion until my old B3 Hammond caught fire one night and turned the Brighton Pier into a pile of cinders...
...!
Oh, well...
...!
LOL...!
My Leslie 760/770 tone cabinet is an amazing beast, with whirling speakers creating a tornado in my living room...
...!
(Had it for 30-odd years now).
Re: The links. Thanks Doug. I've collected a lot of info regarding Hammond and Leslie models, specifications, circuit diagrams, dates, etc....
...!
For anyone who writes music scores on their PC, to play their instruments via midi, I have just purchased from the 'States this cool program...>>>
"NoteWorthy Composer"

Excellent, easy to use program... 8)...!
Cheers all...!
Paul....pop a few coppers in the hat as you pass...

Those things always fascinated me. I could sit & watch those whirling paddles (or whatever they call 'em) whirling round at varying speeds for hours on end. The sound is quite unique.

Fantastic Paul. An amazing mechanical marvel. There's some things you just can't do with transistors.

Father Christmas finally delivered my spanking new organ keyboard..!
After a two month wait, and costing me mega-bucks, he finally squeezed it down my chimney, and put it into the VERY LARGE SOCK at the bottom of my bed..!
A Korg CX-3 Version 2 Combo Organ.
...complete with tone-wheels and two sets of draw-bars!
A modern clone of the famous Hammond B3 2-manual + pedal-board organ from the early 20th Century....remember "Whiter Shade of Pale"and "Dark Side of the Moon", etc......?
I now have a total of eight keyboards and professional, programmable, synthesizers of various types, in addition to all my other instruments..!
It sounds fantastic and even includes a clone version of the famous Leslie rotating speaker system...(I also have the original Leslie 760 rotating speaker cabinet)!
Cheers all...
...!
Paul...flying time is considerably reduced at the moment....lots of finger playing music time instead....

Hi Jared and Paz...
...!
I wonder how many of the Forum Members posting into the "What are you listening to..." thread actually play an instrument and make their own music...?
Learning to play an instrument of any kind is highly recommended....one of the most satisfying, and stress relieving, occupations you could imagine...
... 8)...!
Everything around you disappears into the background while you are playing your instrument...you are in another World... 8)...
...!
I've been fiddlin' with all sorts of musical instruments for the past 70-odd years...
My dear old Mum sat me on her knee at the piano when I was less than one year old and my little chubby fingers never forgot the feel of those piano keys and the sound they made...
...!
Cheers both...
...!
Paul....You hum it...I'll play it...anything...
...!
P.S. My new Korg CX-3 is an amazing piece of kit...I've never been able to re-produce the sound of a Hammond Tone-wheel/ Drawbar organ with all my other programmable synthesizers...now I've got "THE REAL THING"...
...
...
...!
WOWZERS...CHUFFIN' 'ECK...
...!

I totally know what you mean, I don't play much anymore but when I used to write my own music, that is exactly the way I felt, I would become so absorbed by whatever tune I was creating that I would just lose myself in it, and it would seem like a different world, so I know what you're sayin' Fozzer.
You have a killer set up by the way, very impressive.
