I am considering trying out LOMAC now that the price is under $20 USD.  Can anyone give me an opinion on it? Is it a worthwhile combat platform?  Also what about Fogotten Battles Ace Expansion Gold? Now down to $29.99 USD some places.  Is that one a worthwhile combat sim?  Anyone try Pacific Fighters yet?

LOMAC has real good graphics... and handles like Flanker 2.5 with some great training missions... however its really buggy and the load times are aggreviating, even after the patch.  I was flying a mission, it returned me to windows, and for some reason i couldnt fly again, and i had to reinstall it.  Angry

Cheers,

Well, I had a demo of LOMAC on a PCPilot magazine cover CD and it seemed fine.  At least it has more than 3 control axis inpit recognition which in my experience is always lacking in most of the older combat sims.  That's why I don't fly Falcon 4.0 anymore. Because I can't use my thrustmaster afterburner stick/throttle along with my CH pedals.  The rudder axis on the stick/throttle messes it up because the fame can't support miltiple control axis'.  I wouldn't bother with Flanker.  It probably doesn't support a huge control arraingement either cause its older.  Also, if I can't fly 14's, 15's, 18's, f-4's, a-10's etc. with that red, white and blue winged star logo on the wings it wouldn't interest me. Gotta fly US Forces.

Hey Fret. Pacific Fighters is available here in the Harrisburg, PA area in Babbages/Game Stop, Electronics Boutique, and Best Buy.  So, if you don't have any nearby, you may have to drive a bit and find some bigger malls.
