Joystick wont stay calibrated!!!! (Read 338 times)

I have a Saitek Cyborg Graphite joystick, and for the last week or so it won't stay calibrated  Roll Eyes

It will pull to the left and downwards all on it's own...I can go into the control panel and calibrate it, and all seems well, but by the time I go back into FS it is all off again...any ideas how to fix it  ???

P.S. I have been thinking about going to a flight yoke, and have heard good and bad about them. Any input on those would be greatly appreciated too. Grin

Thanx

Have you checkd for a Microsoft Update for that joystick?

I got one recently for my Saitek Cyborg Evo.  This means instead of calibrating it via the control panel each time I turn on I just move the stick in the game and its done!

Yeah, I got the EVO also and had the same problem.

I got the update and it has basicaly solved it.
However, you usually still have to move it in all it axis while FS is loaded  to calibrate it. Then it is good until you reboot.

What I do is load a flight (on a runway) and go through all the JS axis, then hit slew. If the AC stays put, the JS is calbrated. If it slews, it needs a bit more "calibration."
I usually have success on the first try however.

BTW, I reall like the EVO and its well worth it!

Yup, lots easier than using control panel each time though!

On another note I really like my Evo but I just got Pacific Fighters and it doesn't work with this game for me  Sad

The throttle doesnt work and its peein me off now.  Only game I have that the joystick doesn't work with.

I have sent Ubisoft some grief hehehe.  Hopefully they will be able to help but I am not holding my breath.

I just got Pacific Fighters the other day also and yes, the JS throttle doesn't work.
Everything else on th JS works however.
At least I now know it a game bug.

BTW, did you install the PF patch yet?
I did and it's well worth it.

Yes I did, but the throttle still dont bloody well work GRRRRrrrrrr.

I didn't really play it much without the patch.  Did a quick flight but was more interested in trying to get throttle working.

Does look nice though with the patch installed.  Just wanna get my throttle working   Sad

BTW, just in case you didn't know, there is a "fixed .dll" (no cd) avalible for Pacific Fighters that works perfectly with the patch.

It just doesn't work with the new, experimental/alternate exe included with the patch.
I found the experimental exe to be very unstable so, I don't use it anyway.

I would like to have my throttle working also.

However, we must keep in mind that real AC do not have a throttle control on the JS....or a keyboard for that matter

I will just live with the stuation if I have to. Smiley
