I'm trying to improve an AIR file for a LF Spitfire, a Merlin 45M, 1585Hp, +18 boost. With my current settings the speed is too high about 380 mph, should be 357mph.

I notice in various comparisons that the numbers in sect 1500 can vary dramatically from -30343/4177 to 20000/20950, Has anyone understood these numbers???

Can I reduce the mph and still maintain boost at +18??

I've tried the 1% spreadsheet etc but still can't improve!!

One easy way to decrease speed with out changing horsepower is to increase Fuselage drag in the .air file under Flight dynamics.Go higher in single digits to increase drag.Just a suggestion.

Thanks. That's exactly what I've ended up doing. Now the max speed is more realistic, and I can still land and taxi!!!!
