I'm just wondering how I interface with ATC so ATC knows my flight plan.  When I "create a flight" do I need to make a high altitude flight plan, or do I just select a flight with no destination and then program my FMC.  It seems a little confusing if I'm going to use a sid and it doesn't correspond with the fs9 flight plan.  I've also gotten into trouble when I make my flight plan and then request "VFR"  takeoff.  I've solved that problem by requesting takeoff first, but it still doesn't seem realistic if I'm flying by my flight plan and then it says ready for VFR takeoff.  If this sounds a little confusing then maybe it's because I am a little confused with the whole ATC business while flying pmdg b737.  If anybody can tell me how to use ATC in conjunction with PMDG I'd greatly appreciate it.

use FS navigator to export it to a PMDG FMC format. The converter is available at the PMDG website, but this of course requires that you own FS Navigator  Smiley

So basically, if I don't get FSNavigator, what are my options with ATC?  Do I just put in my FMC flight plan and take off as if it were a VFR flight, or do I make a high airways flight plan and just use my FMC fp regardless of ATC?  Thanks for your response in advance.
