I was in the book store going through aircraft magazines and I came across a funny article.

On a hot day, an F-4 pilot taxied to the runway with the canopy up. Right when the tower told him to pull onto the runway, he decided to close the canopy. But he accidentally put his hands back on the ledge, and when the canopy closed, his fingers were caught. He was growling in pain, and couldn’t activate the mic so, he can tell the tower. On top of that, the weapons officer had no clue what was going on. As moments passed, he decided that this had to end. So, with fingers or not, he pulled down with a huge yank, and his hands were free. His fingers was pretty bruised, but still decided to carry on with the sortie.

Cant remember the title of the magazine, but it was an issue with a big Oshkosh article.
