I have made a few repaints of the Default Boeing 747-400. My repaints does not show up under variations in the aircraft menu. Someone told me that one of my repaints would not work because of the decal. I don't understand how why none of my repaints will go on the plane. Could somebody plz help??? Thx

have you added an entry in the Aircraft.cfg?

[fltsim. *sequential number*]
title=Boeing 747-400 *repaint name*
sim=Boeing747-400
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=*repaint folder name*

# eg for texture.1 then texture=1 #

kb_checklists=Boeing747-400_check
kb_reference=Boeing747-400_ref
atc_id=*id*
atc_airline=*airline*
atc_flight_number=*number*
atc_heavy=1
atc_parking_types=CARGO
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type="747-400"
ui_variation=*Repaint Name*
description="....."

I found out why. the repaints were not working because the texture bmp files have to be in DXT3 format to work on the aircraft. When I am repainting the aircraft the bmp file is in the 16 bit format. So after I was done repainting I needed to covert the format to DXT3. Then it would have worked.

Why are you painting in 16 Bit ?

I normally convert the textures to 24 Bit, then repaint and convert to another format ???

The textures should also work in 8 Bit, DXT1 and 32 Bit Smiley

I repaint in 16 bit format because the program I use to paint the aircraft converts them from DXT3 to 16 bit. Then when I am done painting I just use to POSKY Image tool to convert them back.

So what happens if the textures come in another format?
