Sad Hi all,
Just now i finished installing FS2002Pro and everything went fine-until now. When it was finished installing i tried to start but all that happened was that a black command prompt image popped up for about a second and then went away. I have Norton Antivirus 2004 and Noron Personal Firewall. Could that have afected the installation? Should I reinstall? My PC'sconfiguration are as follows: HP Pavilion t630i with Pentium 4 HT, 2.8 ghz, 512 RAM, Intel Integrated Graphics 2 Extreme 64 MB, and thts about it.

I would appreciate replies very very much

Thanks For Reading And Very Very Large THANKS if u reply,
Ashar aka X-Factor

Hi Ashar. I can't be much help as everyone's system is different. I assume you have WinXP & I have no knowledge of it. Your PC is far more powerful than mine but it's possible you have some sort of hardware  conflict, for example the graphics card or drivers.

There is a known issue with anti-virus software running while installing the later M$ sims. I can only suggest uninstalling FS2002 & starting again. This time disable your NAV2004 & all unnecessary background applications first. If you're on broadband or other permanent Internet connection it would be better to go offline while you do this. Again, I'm on dial-up so this was never a problem for me.

If your system is automatically rebooted during the install process make sure you disable it all again before continuing. Make sure all the files are extracted & don't exit setup until you get confimation that install is complete. Extracting some of the compressed CAB files from the CD can take several minutes when it appears nothing is happening.

The first time you run FS2002 other compressed files will be extracted from the CD & the databases are written. This can take a few minutes so give it time before suspecting problems.

I hope this is some help. This is how I install all big programs & it's always worked for me.

When reinstalling, did you remove everything, or were the Addon´s installed, which you didn´t delete.
If you had, uninstall FS2002, remove the complete folder and than install it again.

Glad you fixed Ashar. There's plenty of knowledgable people around here. If I can't help next time I'm sure someone else will. Wink
