If you say you don't like Clapton, I'll slap you silly!

Personally I own:

Clapton:
461 Ocean Boulevard
Just one Night (MFSL)
Slowhand (MFSL)

Cream:
Disreali Gears
Wheels of Fire (DCC)

w/John Mayall:
John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (MFSL)

Blind Faith:
Blind Faith

Derek & the Dominos:
Layla & other Assorted Love Songs (MFSL)
In Concert (MFSL)

The Yardbirds:
The BBC Collection

MFSL and DCC are Ultra-high quality CDs on gold discs that are highly prized among audiophiles.  They're my babies.

Clapton is God!  Smiley

All four Cream CD's.   My favorite being Disraeli Gears, having listened to it countless, countless times since it was released in Nov 67.  And, if I may spring some Cream/Disraeli Gears trivia here while I'm at it:

Recorded in May 1967 at Atlantic Studios in NYC at the end of Cream's first U.S. tour.  Conflicting sources: one says last three days in May 68, another two separate sessions several days each in May 68.

OK, how about the name of the album?  One heck of a mystery.  I'm not at home right now, so I can't check the author's name, but from a book by a reliable source (maybe Chris Welch):  Drummer Ginger Baker was a bicycle enthusiast.  One of Cream's roadies goes up to him one day and says, "Hey, how do you like those disraeli gears?"  He meant 'derailleur' gears (spelling?) of course, and the mispronounciation became part of one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

Unfortunately, I don't own any Clapton albums-and I am so ashmed.  To be honest, I was never that big of a Clapton fan until last July.  In July, he came to the Rose Guarden in Portland, Oregon.  One of my friends bought 2 tickets to the show (one for himself and the other for his girlfriend).  Anyway, it turned out at the last minute that she couldn't go with him (work related)...anyway, he invited me to come with him-and I must say it was amazing.  I have been a big Clapton fan since-but I haven't went out and bought one of his albums yet (but I'm going to).
