I always liked the Chipmunk. Couldn't believe my luck when I saw 2 on the approach this morning. I've been practising my rapid shot technique ready for the Duxford show. An old hand I was chatting to told me not to hesitate waiting for the shot you want. It's quite likely you'll hesitate too long & not get anything at all. If you take as many as possible in quick succession there's more chance of one coming out OK. I'd already found out that he was quite right & I often freeze on the button just at the wrong moment. Nice to know that it wasn't just me. Thought I might as well post these all in one sequence just as I took them.

Right, here we go. Hold your breath & don't mess it up for goodness sake.

So far so good. Here comes the other one.

I was pleasantly surrprised with the results. Seems I'm improving a little. Shame about #7 but I suppose 7 out of 8 ain't too bad. 8)

PS. In the absence of Spitfires I think this might keep our Ozzy happy for a while. Cheesy

Thanks Ben. EGKA Shoreham, about 4 miles from where I live now. http://www.shorehamairport.co.uk (Note they call it Brighton City Airport now. Renaming airports is a new gimmick. I wish they would leave things alone. Angry Roll Eyes)
I didn't mention it as most people will be fed up me with going on about it by now. Shoreham is the oldest commercial airport in the UK. The present terminal building was opened in 1936 but there's been an airfield here since about 1910. (The first commercial flight involved a consignment of light bulbs in 1911.) I've been coming here regularly since I was about 8 years old. Us lads used to fly our control-line models on the airfield on summer evenings after it was closed. It was all grass & there were no fences in those days. I worked here on & off since the early '60s so I should know it pretty well by now. It's changed a bit over the years but it's still a nice place to spend a few hours. Wink

PS. You can go there in FS. It's reasonably accurate in FS9.

PPS. Note the slogan "Shoreham Airport Welcomes YOU at All Times". Makes a nice change these days. Long may this policy continue. Wink

They can call it what they like but it will always be Shoreham to me. So there........! LOL Roll Eyes Grin

The silly thing is that it never was in Shoreham in the first place. The airport is in Lancing & run by Brighton, Hove & Worthing town councils.* Lancing & Shoreham have no say in the matter. This means that my taxes help keep it running & therefore I regard it as MY airport. 8)

*PS. Oops, I forgot that Brighton & Hove are now the city of Brighton. Roll Eyes No wonder I'm in a permanent state of confusion. ??? Roll Eyes Wink

Nice shots, it seems that taking many pictures instead of waiting for the right moment works well for you 8).
