First of all, sorry for the quality, but these shots were taken with my cell phone!  I don't exactly carry a real camera with me on the job...yet.   Tongue

Last night, we had to park a plane that had already terminated (meaning done for the day) in a remote spot to free up a gate for another flight.  When that flight left, we had to tow the remote plane back to the gates.  Well I took this opportunity to ride with a ramp supervisor in the cockpit.   Grin 8)

There is a whole lot of things that fit under my job description as Ramp Agent.  We handle the baggage from the time it is checked in at the ticket counter and sent down the conveyor belt, til the time it gets on the plane.  We also do the very oposite...unload it, and send it back to baggage claim.  We are responsible for marshalling the plane in, and pushing it out.  We dump the lavs (yuck...), and when needed, we tow the planes to and from locations they need to be.   Smiley

Blimey Silver... Shocked...!
South County airfield, (Q99), Santa Clara County, doesn't look that busy in my FS 2002 version... Wink...!
Do "Heavies" regularly use the airfield?

I do my regular sim practice take-offs and landings there in my Cessna 152...!
(I've populated the airfield with my LAGO FSSE objects)... Wink...!

Cheers Silver...!

Thanks.   Smiley

Ramp life is awesome man.  There is so much going on out there and seeing it all work from down there offers a much different perspective than seeing it all from the terminal.  It can be dangerous...it's very LOUD.  So yeah have to be careful to wear protection at all times.  But on slow travel seasons, like right now, it can be rather boring haha.  You work your ass off, but only when planes are on the ground really.  You work a little, sit a little...but I don't like the sitting part.  I'm still very new down there and I'm still all wide-eyed every time a plane comes into the gate.  So I either observe whats going on to soak it all up to get a feel for what's going on, or if that gate needs help, I will head over and lend a hand.

HAHA!  Head about 25 miles north/northwest and you have KSJC.  Take your Cessna up there and try to keep up with all the airline traffic.   Wink
