Snap. Here's another one. Didn't catch it in the air.

Ain't they purty? Cheesy

PS. These were taken at various times during the morning while it was doing circuits & bumps. They might not be in sequence. Hope the pilot learned as much as I did from the practice. Smiley

Thanks chaps. Glad you like 'em. Wink The conditions weren't particularly good & I used the opportunity to take these for practice.

Hi Paul. It's not difficult. Personal registrations have been popular for some time now. Until a few years ago you had to take what you were given (G-Axxx etc.) but the CAA relaxed the regulations. I think you can have almost any registration you like now providing it's never been used before. Some owners re-register their aircraft with something more appropriate. A couple of well-known ones are G-HURR (Hawker Hurricane) & G-HUNT (Hawker Hunter).

Hey! I just flew on one of those today for the young eagles progam at the EAA! I live 30 minutes away from KOSH where the largest airshow in the world is. In flight sim, please check out pioneer airport in oshkosh. Its right next to KOSH and they give vintage plane rides and young eagles rides. Actually today they were giving rides in a travel air biplane and the ford tri-moter(the same one thats in FS9). I took lots of pics of the travel air and the ford(and my dad took pics of me in the RV-6). So if you want me to post them let me know!

Oh and by the way the one I was in was not the tail dragger is was the trike.

Very interesting Ben. Of course you must post your photos. Vintage types are my first love. I doubt that most people here have ever seen a Travel Air or Ford Trimotor, let alone in the air. Cheesy

I will try to post them but I'm having a problem. I've never posted an image here and I'm having trouble making the file size smaller. I downloade Ifranview and read all the help files and everyting, but I cant seem to get the file even under 500kb. Could someone give me some help? ???

Hi Ben. I use IrfanView to crop/resize all the shots I post here. I usually crop them to reduce the file size. If you check the file sizes the average image in this thread is around 50k. Resizing should not be a problem. Click Image/Resize & type 800 in the Width box. The depth (Height) will be set automatically. On the latest version of IrfanView there is an option to set the "Save Quality" when you save out in JPG format. Unless it's something special I leave this at 85%. This should come out at less than 100k for the average 800 x 600 image. Works for me but you might need to experiment.

If you can't figure it out mail me one of your original images & I'll see what I can do with it. My e-mail is in my profile.

PS. I've had a few glitches with my mail recently. This will be a good test.

Ok thanks. I got a 500kb pic down to 78kb just by making the width 800 like you said. The pics will be up soon!

Well done. Here's another tip. Don't save under the original file names after resizing your shots. File/Save As with an appropriate name before uploading the images. Something applicable to you. All the images I post here have my own da- prefix.
