It's ok but it uses an older chipset. Plus its an XT which is a clocked down version of the original nVidia FX5600 chipset.

I've been recomending that people wait for the nVidia Geforce 6600GT to come out because it's a lot more powerful than anything in the FX series and even ATI's X600. It's only $200US which is good for a card of its level. I have no idea on its release date but it will probably be out in the comming weeks.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Wink&&The Rig: &&AMD Athlon XP2000+ Palomino, ECS K7S5A 3.1, 1GB PC2700 DDR, Geforce FX5200 128mb, SB Live Platinum, 16xDVD, 16x10x40x CDRW, 40/60gb 7200rpm HDD, 325w Power, Windows XP Home SP1, Directx 9.0c with 66.81 Beta gfx drivers

Hi I want to replace my ATI 9200se 128mb that I bought last month ( BIG mistake) with somthing that will work ACOF well. Would it give similar performance to the FX5600?   Her indoors has the purse strings and no amount of sweet talking will get me £100 (spent too much on the computer already) Many thanks. Chris

Stay clear of any old gen GPU's. There really is no point you upgrading one ruck up on the older gen ladder when the new  cards are out. Save your/her money and get hold of a 6600 at the earliest opportunity.

Just don't go near the old gen cards now - money down the drain IMHO! (but then all PC hardware is Lips Sealed !)
