A photographer named Ken I met at Biggin Hill yesterday kindly sent me these shots. The Do 24 at the Jersey Air Display 2 weeks ago. I hope he doesn't mind me posting them for you to see. I didn't think to ask his surname. What a fantastic sight.
I must point out that I didn't take these. Wish I'd been there to see it. Thanks Ken.

FAMOUS FLYING BOAT MAKES UNIQUE UK APPEARANCE AT BIGGIN HILL'S BATTLE OF BRITAIN AIR SHOW
The only surviving Dornier DO-24 flying boat will be a unique UK appearance at this year's Battle of Britain Air Show weekend at Biggin Hill on September 18 and 19, 2004.
the DO-24 is currently on a charity round-the-world adventure piloted by Capt Iren Dornier, the grandson of its original designer Dr Claude Dornier.
Jock Maitland, founder of Air Displays International, said, "We are delighted to have the Dornier DO-24 at both days of this year's Battle of Britain show. For the first time in a flying display, the DO-24 will appear alongside another historic flying boat, The Catalina. This will be a very special occasion for everyone.
More than 200 Dornier DO-24 flying boats were built from 1938 to 1944, primarily used for rescuing downed air crew. The Dornier 24 was the most successful flying boat in Germany in the 1930s. During World War Two, the Dornier DO-24 airlifted a total of 11,000 people stranded at sea. The flying boat, with a maximum capacity of 25 people, often carried more than 100 during rescue attempts.
The current aircraft was based on the original flying boat model designed and built in the 1930s, but has been improved with turbine engines, new wing and landing gear, making it an amphibian aircraft.
"The restoration of this flying boat - my favourite amongst the aircraft my grandfather built - is the fulfilment and culmination of a lifelong dream," said Capt Dornier, who will be appearing at Biggin Hill for the first time.

I did ask but forget now. As I recall it was a DSLR with one of those darned great lenses on it. I chat to so many people with this heavy artillery on my little trips & get easily confused these days. I take very little notice as it's not likely I would ever be able to afford one myself.
I think it was a Nikon.

I'd go Hagar one better:
"A good one."
of course, comparing with Hagar's photos, the camera helps, but it's the photographer (and a bit of luck, as being in the right place at the right time).
