When Boeing and Airbus have to make a dilievery to a diff. country and are using their "Smaller Jets" as like the ones that can't or atleast arn't certified to cross the Atlantic or such...what do they do?
like this
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/658426/L/
; soon this aircraft will be flying home to its base in JFK...

internal fuel tanks. The interior is adjusted to allow some rather large tanks to be installed for the flight, that or they can take a route that allows them to stop in iceland. For instance alot of the A320/318/319's will make stops in Glasgow before heading over the atlantic then will stop in rekyavik(sp?) then somewhere in Canada.
Someone correct me if i am wrong but i dont think there is such a thing as an aircraft that isnt certified to cross the atlantic in terms of a ferry flight, it would make delivery of aircraft impossible

I agree with you. If they were limited, how would all those ATRs cross over to the US, and all those Dash-8s go to Europe (and other places, of course)...??
Every once on a while, one of the airliner magazines prints an article, and more frequently shows photos of, airplanes of ferry flights.

I know there are specific regulations for ferry flights, though they are out my my reach ATM.
But even if you flew non ETOPS (60min away from alternate with 1-engine cruise speed) it would be no problem if you flew a northern route over iceland/greenland.
There are plenty of airstrips available there, if an emergency occurs
