Does CFS3 have CO-OP multiplayer?  If my friend and I want to fly on the same side against the AI, is that possible?  Could we start a campaign and save it? Can we do missions OR are we relegated to just flying Air to Air combat?  Thanks...

Co-op missions yes, campaign no.
Get the CFS Mission builder at  http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs3/ and start making your own missions.
You can crew any plane that is not hidden in the missions screen.
