I have downloaded the Project Skyworks CRJ-700 Jazz Yellow.  I cannot get the thing working though.  This is the only addon plane I have never been able to get going  ???

So what's the trick?  I musta missed something.  When I unzipped the file for some reason it didnt put the aircraft.cfg into the aircrafts folder so I ammended this.  Just cannot work out what I am doing wrong here.

The thing you want to check in the aircraft cfg file is what the name of the sim this name should be the same name as the .air file(example if the .air files name is CRJ700 then you should find a line in the aircraft cfg fileas follows sim=CRJ700 this is usually the first or second line) They have to match or forget it.
If you do not see a .air file in the planes folder than you got a problem. I hope you downloaded this plane into a dummy folder & not fs2004. If you downloaded this plane into fs2004 then use the search option & look for *.air  to see if it put the air flie in the root directory of fs2004 the only matches you should find should be in a aircraft folder not any where else.
DO NOT EVEVER DOWN LOAD INTO FS2004 DIRECTLY.
use a dummy folder for this it makes life a lot easier. 8)

Gary spot on  Grin

The sim line was wrong.  I had tried changing this one too just didnt realise it had to be the same as the *.air file! thankyou.

So anyone else who gets this plane be warned it wont work unless you edti the cfg so the sim line reads

sim=BombardierCRJ-700

No problem GIXER
I have seen this before but at least it is a simple fix.
About the only thing else it might have been would have been a corrupted .air file but usually the plane will do some things but will almost allways cause fs2004 to crash.
I was not sure if you had used a dummy folder or not when you said it did not put the aircraft cfg file in the planes folder.
Maybe it was not zipped up correctly which is why you want to use a dummy folder to unzip into so you do not have to look all over the place to find the files you unzipped.

On the behalf of Project SkyWorks, I would like to apologize for the inconvience, but we were in a rush to get these freeware addons out, so it was inevitable that we would make a mistake like this Embarrassed Especially if I'm the one whos giving the advice on how to fix up the aircaft.cfg file........... Embarrassed
