The weather wasn't so nice today. It was a tad windy but it didn't rain. I must have taken several 100 shots over the weekend so it will take a while to sort them out. I quickly put together a selecton of the better ones.

The Catalina coming in over the fence. Spitfire Mk.XVIII waiting to take off.

Nice one. Right on the marks.

Here goes the Spit

Closely followed by 2 of his mates. What a beautiful sound. Cheesy

I'm pleased with this one.

Hope you like 'em. Wink

The jury is still out on that. It was more by luck than judgement. I work on the principle that if you take enough shots 1 or 2 should come out OK. Roll Eyes Wink

PS. I'll be interested to see how Tempest gets on with his new toy.

These are fantastic shots Hagar pal. The last one with the two OFMC aircraft is stunning. I've not taken any shots worth posting yet as I've not been anywhere with my new camera yet but if I can match this quality at Duxford next week I'll be quite happy.

i don't know at what focal length these photos are taken, but perhaps they would turn out even better when you made your shutter speed just a little bit (maybe 1/20sec) longer. the result would be a better blurred prop. of course that would only be possible if you didn't have to zoom in alot. but once again, very good photos!!!  Wink

Thanks for the advice Bones. What I don't know about photography would fill several large volumes. I'm easily confused these days so I don't want things to get too complicated. Roll Eyes

It would be nice to get better blurred props if I can. It depends on the engine revs of course but I find the ones taken on full zoom seem to come out better for some reason. I need to experiment with the settings when things aren't so hectic. One thing I don't want is to lose the sharpness of the aircraft itself. Only a year ago I would have been delighted with these shots. Now the quality is improving I'm becoming more critical of my own work.

Awesome shots Doug!  I really like the last one with both the Mustang and the Spitfire flying next to each other.  Really nice!

Thats definatly not a bad thing. I have had that same problem, and it always means i try harder to get better results, which in return is never a bad thing:) seems like its helped you produce good quality photos Doug Wink
