Please could someone lead me towards a site that I can download this driver from with a download accelerator.  Cause I'm on dial up in 'Africa' and it's simply rediculus to even bother trying to download it normally, cause that ony downloads the file at around 200 bytes / sec!  And don't say guru3d.com cause I'm irritated that I can't use my accelerator from that site anymore.  And there's a problem at the nvidia site and I can't download the driver either way.

Thanks,
Greg

What driver?   ???

200 bytes per second is nuts, you need to find out whats wrong with your connection, no phone line is that slow, it's to do with your system.

Greg! Greg! I have a solution. Give me the link to the Nvidia download page of your driver or at least answer this pages q's for me: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

It's worked to get mine into Leechget, so I will try it on yours.

Sorry forgot to include the driver.

It's the 65.12 or something like that.

I know that it's the latest nvidia driver.

It's not at the nvidia site yet, but the latest ones they have refuse to be able to be downloaded.

As if it's a dead link or something, I tried 5 different drivers and all the different mirrors for the drivers and it was as if there was nothing there!

Are there no other driver sites out there?

http://www.driverguide.com/

http://www.windrivers.com/

http://www.drivershq.com/

http://www.driversplanet.com/

Just do a web search and you'll find thousands of places for driver downloads!

I know what your saying!
I was getting in the habit of downloading every new driver you could find for the FX5200, with hopes of finding the jewel. And you know what? I have wasted a lot of flight time Grin

Out of all the "new" drivers I had experianced worst performance or other more serious problems.
So I'm sticking with the 6111s, work great on my system!

Also something I never thought about, most of the "beta" drivers are just a regular release that has been tweaked, correct? Or overclocked?
And if so that voids a warrenty on a video card, my FX5200 has(had) a "lifetime warrenty", overclocking is the only thing they won't cover for. So by installing a "overclocked" driver my warrenty is useless  Embarrassed

Thanks for that guys.

I don't notice much difference in performance in drivers cause my frames never go over 16 since I have a piece of ****!  They're really for when I finally get my new FX5700 256MB card!  Much better than the rubbish MX420!  I also want to get them cause my new Tiger Woods 2004 game and MotoGP 2 keep freezing, and apparently new drivers would help.  My current ones, I think are like vers. 45.?? / 50.??  Which are like 8 months old now.

Guess what GreG,

That FX5700 is never gonna peform near as well as a FX5900XT 128mb, and i'll bet you are paying a lot more for it.

Do some research before ripping yourself off.

Don't exactly have a choice, considering it was the top of the range in South Africa a few weeks ago, and it was bought a week ago, just have to get it up here, as well as the rest of the new computer.

They had the FX5900XT to start with a few months ago, then when I went to Durban a couple of weeks ago, they were out of stock, crap timing!, huh ???

Will get a much nicer one when I get a laptop at year end, considering I have 6 weeks of school left in my life, next term!!!

Can't wait!

Hi Efilnikufesin,

I tried the sites you mentioned.  I either have to pay for some things, or the site just transfers me to the nvidia site which is having problems, I cannot download anything from the nvidia site, I have no idea what's wrong!  I am getting highly irritated!  If only I could still use my download accelerator at guru3d.com.  Don't know why I can't anymore, so annoying, cause like I said before, if I downloaded the driver from guru3d.com with the normal IE downloader, I reckon it'd take a good 5 bloody hours!  Or even longer!!!!!!

I know that there are many sites that don't allow using download accelerators. The reason that I have been told is that it uses too much bandwidth when people download multiple things at the same time from a site. Not sure if that is the correct reason though.
Sorry about some of the sites they aren't ones I visit often just a few I could remeber, and a couple from a search through Google. I don't think things like drivers, BIOS updates ect. should have to be paid for so my mistake giving those addresses too you.
I guess my only recommendation would be to download (without the accelerator) at night while your sleeping so when you awake it is ready for install! I know that isn't what you want to hear but thats all I can think of Wink

I always think of that, but it's hell of a scary.  It was at 28KB after like 10 minutes!  Also overnight, what if there's an emergency and trying to get hold of us, or the alarm goes off and the response team is trying to get hold of us, remember, I live in Zimbabwe where the crime isn't rare!  And just think, my parents have to pay the bloody phonebill!  Overnight is a lot of money!  If we had 2 phonelines, I would give a ****.  But we ony have one! Sad Undecided  I might try it sometime, but don't quite know.

Just wish you could still use the accelerator at at least one of the sites!

Wish I was like one of you guys who just pay a monthly rental, with broadband!  But we have to pay a monthly subscribtion to the service provider and we have to pay the bloody phone bill, which rises buy 200% every month!

All I can say is that I'm hell of a chuffed that I'm in my last year of school!!!  Just 5 more weeks next term (in 10 days time, still in holidays) then finished forever!  Just got the A level exams to write.  Can't wait.

Going to South Africa next year, for a gap year, so things are looking up!, much, much, better connection speeds!  And.........  next year, I'll have my own credit, or debit card (since I'll be earning my own money!, so I can buy things off the net!  Which will be cool.)

I honestly think that my MX420 has burnt out (had it since January 2003), the way it keeps on freezing in Tiger Woods 2004, it runs really smoothly with the setting's I'm using, the suddenly out of the blue, it FREEZES!!!  The word "NO" gamer wants to hear!  Just can't work out why, I just know that it's my graphics card, cause it doesn't freeze when I use the software renderer, but it jerks, which, cannot be coped with in golf!!!  Does anyone have this new cool game?  Or better, does anyone know why mine is freezing?

Greg

Mate...... Grin 8)

In Zimbabwe, nothing is fast!  Not even at school.  Even though it's quite a good one.

Not that I' be able to download anything there anyway, considering it's like web browsing only, and there are no burners on any of the bloody school computers, to put the info on! Tongue

Yaaaaaaa.......  In Zimbabwe!  I last saw one in this country around 4 years ago!  Besides, what makes an internet cafe's speed, here, faster than my speed!  It sounds quick, 46.6KB/s, but because of the crappy phonelines, it acts like 15KB/s!  Cause it freezes now and then.

Greg

P.S.  Ya the Zimbo's have done quite well, especially in the swimming, one of my good friends!  Kirsty Coventry.  Hell of an upset that was!  (for the rest of the world! Wink)  Use her for your example of speed!

leechget is a free download accelerator that parses the website, listing it's files and you can choose the one you want to download, it should work at guru3d.com

Get the English only driver version as it is half the size of the multi-language ones.

If you are connecting at 46k, and it's slow, consider that you might have a filthy connection full of bugs and spys and other software accessing the connection, draining your bandwidth, these need to be trimmed down so you get what you are paying for, and companies aren't using your connection for a market survey.

Lots of programs access the net, Disable anything automatic that could access the net.

Run AdAware and other spyware killers, see how much bandwidth your connection is using at idle!

The new video card will come with a driver.

New drivers aren't going to make it perform noticeably better I'll bet, but may even make it worse.

If you spent as much time getting a decent video card as you did worrying about the dumb driver, you'd be a lot better off!

MAIL ORDER MAIL ORDER MAIL ORDER MAIL ORDER

Actually the 256mb version of the 5700 might be ok....  if that's all you can get.... sheesh I could have posted you a card.

You mention the phone line quality being bad.... but yet your connection speed is 46k ??  It should work ok at that if its a true reading..... I mean, if it was connecting at 26kb or 32kb that would be bad.......
