Shadowe,

There is a freeware program called EndItAll.

There is also another one that for the life of me right now I can't remember the name of... that is specifically designed to work with fs2004.

Back with that one in a minute...... "senior moment"  Wink.

(returning a few minutes later)
Ah... it is called FSAutostart.  It lets you specify exaclty what is running when you start FS2004..... so if you use Teamspeak, for example...... it will start that, and then shut down your virus software (or whatever you tell it to do).

FSAutostart is in the flie library here I think.  EndItAll is not.... but a "Google" should find it in short order.

Hope this helps.

best,

Also, I believe that you can use fsautostart to run basically any program just by changing the command line...Smiley

Here is an absolutely essential program that makes EndItAll practically redundant. It's called Startup Manager, and it's free.
Highly Recommended

Also, If you want to forget about FS autostart and use the inbuilt WinXP management program to control the services, (you may as well because you have to understand them anyway before you can safely shut them down) GoTo.......

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services

It's all there, definitions, control and dependencies.

You may have to enable administrative tools to see them if you haven't already.
