Yesterday me and my buddy Mathijs went to Schiphol Amsterdam (EHAM). We found some really good spotting places, mostly around the newest runway, 'the Polderbaan'. There are some places where you can get really close to the action without any obstructions to take good photos! For me Schiphol is one of the best spotting places around the globe...with a diversity of around 180 different airline companies and excellent spotting places...only 1.5 hours away from me. I hope you'll enjoy the three pages of photos I took. They are only cropped and resized to 800 pixels. Have fun!
a bit proud of the blurred props
soon to be replaced by the new KLM A330's...in the mean while i keep enjoying them.

Very Nice Ken!
I wish I could get that close to them over here! LaGuardia & Kennedy are buttoned up very tight. You pull out a camera and security is asking you what you are doing!
Damn terrorists!

like i said, Schiphol is the heaven for spotters: you can get very close, have mostly unobstructed view, the KLM pilots are ordered to wave to the spotters and they really do it everytime, lots of different airline companies from all over the world and so on.
where the taxiway crosses the road, you can stand along that road and wave to the pilots. sometimes they move up the throttle or yesterday one put them in reverse to give us some spectacle. really cool. when a 747 crosses that road, you actually stand under the wingtip!

i forgot to mention. we also saw a Tupolev 154 taking off. with the smoke and sound it was an amazing sound. i made about 10 photos of that but allas, my X-Drive (which i use as image tank) failed and messed up my CF card. i lost many photos, including the Tu-154 ones.
there was another Tu-154 standing at the cargo gate. it was standing there for about two weeks now. during take off it had to cope with an engine fire and returned imediatelly. after a few days it wanted to leave again, but suddenly they discovered something on the main gear so again it was grounded...i have a photo of that one, will post it later
