Hi all 8),
       So right now this is where I am. I have a meljet 747-400 Af1 and the http://www.simviation.com/fs2004misc4.htm package. Here are the instructions in  FS2004 Airforce One and F14 Tomcat AI Flights. Can you help me put these into laymans terms ?  Roll Eyes

Using T-Tools,add AC#500 and 501 into your aircraft folder and save the changes…

Then add the new flight plans into your flightplans folder.

Now just install the Meljet 747_400 Airforce One (and the F14) into the appropriate folder.

Both aircrafts can be flown on their own, but I claim no credit for them; Michael Pietzsch Meljet Mega Pack’s Airforce One and F14 Tomcat can be found on this site…I didn’t include it to save download size.A pair of Canadian Air Force AI hornet is included in this file but if you try and fly those suckers, they don’t handle too well.
If you want to replace the f14 with another plane of your choice just install it into the aircraft folder and place it here: AC#501,447,"XXXXXXX"

For those of you who are not familiar, just copy\paste the title from the aircraft cfg file using notepad like the example below
[fltsim.0]
title=F-14D Tomcat
sim=f14d
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
kb_checklists=f14d_check
kb_reference=f14d_ref
atc_id=JZ1973
atc_airline=Navy
atc_flight_number=AD101
atc_heavy=0
ui_manufacturer=Grumman
ui_type=F-14D Grim Reapers
ui_variation=VF-101 Grim Reapers
description=The F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, variable sweep wing, two-place fighter signed to attack and destroy enemy aircraft at night and in all weather conditions. The F-14 can track up to 24 targets simultaneously with its advanced weapons control system and attack six with Phoenix AIM-54A missiles while continuing to scan the airspace. Armament also includes a mix of other air intercept missiles, rockets and bombs.

This file will put Air Force One in different areas of the world where the President could attend to different meetings and is escorted by a pair of F14 or Hornets depending of it’s location.

     Thanks, Ace

p.s Im really really really really sorry that this IM is looooong. Thanks !!!!!!!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Hi Ace. If you've never done this before those instructions are a tad confusing. Roll Eyes I don't have FS9 or TTools on this machine so here's the basic principles from memory.

From the instructions it seems you will need to download the Michael Pietzsch Meljet Mega Pack Airforce One & the F-14 Tomcat separately. You will also need TTools if you don't already have it. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004utilities1.htm

Read the comprehensive instructions included with TTools carefully & familiarise yourself with it. It might take a while before you understand how it works. You need to install both aircraft & add them to the traffic database.
Quote:
Using T-Tools,add AC#500 and 501 into your aircraft folder and save the changes

Run the TTools Decompiler option to extract the database into 3 separate text files. The one you need to edit will be named Aircraftxxx.txt. The new aircraft can be added below the last one on the list. Replace the "XXXXXXX" in the new AC#xxx,447,"XXXXXXX" entries with the Aircraft.cfg  title= names of the new aircraft. This is how FS9 recognises them as AI traffic. Save changes & run TTools again. This time recompile the database using the Flightplans.txt file included with the download.* All being well that should do it.

I hope this is some help.

*PS. Depending how this is configured you might need to copy/paste the new entry into the existing Flightplansxxx.txt file before recompiling.
