Let me be one of the first to welcome you here.

I was slightly disappointed with the effects that came with Dino's F-14.  To me they just didn't look right.  

I replaced them with the excellent Military Effects Pack v1.2 by Toshikazu-Shimizu (Water-Toshi).  Even though this Add-On was originally written for FS 2002 it works well with FS 2004.  It comes with all the bells and whistles including detailed installation instructions.

Might I also recommend the outstanding Carrier Operation Package for FS2004 Military Jets by Rob Barendregt and Doug Dawson:

This package includes all sorts of cool effects including a cooler looking and sounding sonic boom (a must have on the F-14).  Yes, with this package you can actually go to the Spot Plane View as your F-14 approaches Mach 1 and see the vapor effect as your aircraft "breaks through"!  This package also includes any gauges you need to assist you in performing carrier operations in your F-14.
