well i am doing transaatlantic flight (yes i knoiw how to set auto pilot, but not that auto land thingy) but like when i waa flying from nyc today (real time weather) it was really bad. low clouds vis. down to about 1/2 mile. i looked for bostons frequecnys(using the map) and i tried to contact boston fron long island sound and i put it in and made it active bt nothing. o yea right ow im flying form boston to some nova scota place (i cant spell scota!!!) and im flying 25,000 feet in a meljet 747 ups varient. oo any other tips you think  a newbi might want to know tell me. (i know how to work flight planner but im not good at gp i can get the flight planner and i know terran butten but im not sure on the others)

AUTOLANDING where is it?? Shocked Shocked in real life i think the only plane that does it its the b777 but i dont thing the default one brought that system

I think he might want the ILS approach. I can help on this i am still figuring all the bell and wisle on that topic.

I use ATC to guide me and switch to ILS on final approach I used autopilot approach. and it guided me on to the ILS perfecly. at the last moment I disangage the autopilot cut the engine to min, flared and voila. safely on the ground.

Fox_molder, I flight as well as you do,I askek in your opinion, isn't a litter bit bad to get used to it,have you tried to land only visual with 20 miles weather visual?
It used to be easy for me before i knew the ifr flight,but now
its hardly enough to do,cause i get use to IRF,ILS aproach

I  TRIED LANDING AT JFK THIS AFTER NOON (woops caps) and in real world weather updated every 15 mins. well the east coast was getting hit hard by rain. and man i peek out the clouds at 200 ft (yes 200) and i say birght light (them aproching lights) and i flared her (747) and i just mad it even tho ididnt have clearence. lol i need fuel badly. and didnt find any fel at kennedy. so i cheated. but now im 35 mins from shannen ort shannon airport in england. i dot know how to use ils. can some 1 tell me befopr i reach heathrow tommrow afternoon

back to subject how can i get it to tune into other toers or atleast weather info from long ays away. is it possible
if so what do i do.(whereees grey cat he's good at helping people)

I am pretty sure Kennedy Airport offers jet fuel.  I can give them a call today just to make sure. . . .

Also, in this day and age, if you tried to drop a 747 on NYC VFR , and without clearance, well, you wouldn't get very far.

Yes it is not good to be to confortable with automatic landing systeme. as you sais every time I have a clear approch I land manualy. but at night and in bad weather I feel safe knowing that my ILS will save me from going 6 feet under the runway. Last night the cload where low and it help me find the runway. but a 2000 it cleared so i made the approach.
