Cockpit Seatbelt (Read 419 times)

This is going to sound a little strange.
But does anyone have any pics or diagrams of how the seatbelts in the cockpit operate. I know they are the pull over the shoulder type, but after that i have no idea, how and what do they latch onto, is there a lap belt like the ones in the back. I am specifically on about the larger jets, 777 and so on, i have done a ton of searching but to no avail.

On the King Air and Citation you have five straps. One between your legs, the left and right waiste ones and the left and right harnesses. The strap on the left (or right if you're co-pilot) waiste has a five way buckle that all the other straps connect too. When you want to take it off, there is a top peice that twist (not like in the little planes where you pull a metal tab up, this one you twist). I'll get a picture for you next time I fly.

Craig a silly thought, but if you go over to airliners.net you can do a search for cockpit only photos...

thanks ozzy. i have but what i am interested in is how the belts secure themselves and i cant find anything on there like that. Might have to look harder.

Do you mean the buckles or the baseplates that attatch the harness to the airframe?

buckles. I see these clips where pilots pull them over the shoulder and thats it, i want to know what happens to them after that. As strange as it may seem, but i have my reasons.

This is Simviation, which is synonimous for "strange".
