I've seen this in photos before but never in the flesh. Not sure it was the same aircraft or even a Pitts. Some of the guys at R/C model air displays also get up to these sort of tricks. Great fun.

Saw that very plane doing its thing many yrs ago at Trenton Ont, at their annual Canadian Forces Base Airshow...........pilot landed inverted and left the aircraft.........he had a winch attached to his harness and after a suitable time to wave to the crowd, re-entered and then took off once again to perform the end of his routine,.........landed upright as the finale........

Can take off upside-down in that thing? that would be quite a sight!
