Sometimes this happens for no reason whatsoever. Even my machine has done it occassionally. Best bet is to retry the flight and see if it happens in the same place at the same time

If you search for and install Autosave you need never worry about this as it saves your flight at it's current point in your 'Select Flight' menu every 5 minutes.

I'm sure it must have a tiny effect on FR as it's running in the background all the time, but I can't believe anyone is doing long flights without it...... ???

Seriously, it's a great add on. Let's face it, there are so many unexplained reasons why your system crashes it's so useful to be able to just pick up where you left off.

Now I know that very few of us ever mess up an approach after spending 2 or 3 hours flying from Zanzibar to Wogga Wogga but in the unlikely event that you do  , after swearing, kicking the cat, blaming the wife for putting you off and having another beer it's at least reasonably satisfying just to be able to pick up again 10 miles out and do it again - properly this time.

But not only that - do you use Fraps to make videos? You need Autosave.

Do you want to spread a long flight over several sessions and not want to fill your saved flights folder up with flights you'll never need again? You need Autosave (it overwrites last week's saved flights with this week's automatically).

And so on.

Yeah you've guessed - I would recommend it to all serious (and ahem discerning) simmers 

Something very similar happend to me when i use afcad2,after long hour of flight the prgm restart it self,when i add an ils or when i change the hold shot on runways,if you're are using afcad you should took off all the add-on or modifications made by af2 and try to see it fix your problem

Corbin just put on a pair of rubber gloves to keep static away from the mother board and get a can of air at any electronics store or wallmart.unplug the computer and try not to touch any thing.fairly simple.every one should do this offten.or you can pay an expert a small fee to do it.but i do mine and my wifes offten.you might be surprised what you might find cloging those fans.

If I undertand correcly s..it happend and there is nothing to do to resolve it....

I am in the cold with my AC running at 22c. so it is not heat i am freesing.

I will try to keep the hard drive running. may be that would help... and kill Anti-virus while i am flying...

ps it happend again to night on aproach to cyqb(quebec) I was flying from ottawa. 3 hour flight aprox.
I was in the fog until 1000 i had a great time making my approch then poof. I went like....you pice of something. I am going to something you out the windows.

Hey, I just checked my modules folder, and guess what? I've got autosave.dll in there already. I must have installed it on one of those long night time sessions, and forgot that I'd done it. Now that's why my sim autosaves flights for me. A top little programme.
