When you are in-game, press ALT to bring up the toolbar at the top of the screen.
Select Aircaft and then Visual Flight Path.

The rest you should be able to work out.

Is that ok?

This might be a stupid respose but I didn't get this part until later

You have to be tuned into a VOR, ILS or something to work I don't think you can use it with just GPS but I'm not sure.

So you tuned in the correct frequency of the VOR into the nav1 radio, you have activated it by pressing the nav1 button and you have selected a heading.......right?

Do not forget to check the plot course box in the Display Visual Flight Path menu It easy to miss. Then make sure Nav1 has the correct freq. for the ils runway you want the rings will display once you pick up the ils signal.
If you are close to the airport & still do not see the rings and you are sure you have the correct freq dialed in. Then you have a different problem the plane you are using radio section is not set up right in the aircraft cfg file.

Am I understanding correctly, your wanting to see your flight path while on a normal flight?

I thought the visual aids were only for ILS? So unless your locked onto an ILS frequency, you'll not get the visual aids.

I could be wrong...

You find the frequencies by looking at the map and you put them into The NAV radio ussually next to or under the Communication radio.  Just do the "Vor Navigation" lessons in privite pilot lessons and "ILS aproach" in instumental pilot lessons they are really helpfull and can explain it a lot better then me
