I've been using a motherboard with a 400MHz front side bus. I have a P4 w/Hyperthreading/1GB Mem and Win2k. The FSB is what is slowing me down now.

Can anyone suggest at least a brand of motherboard. I've been primarily using MSI or ASUS. I'm willing to move on. I think the P4 can go up to a 500MHz FSB. Anyone know of higher?

Thanks...
Joe

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

There is something wrong there. I don’t think you can use a P4 with HT with a 400mhz FSB motherboard the first HT was the P$3.0gGhz with 533 FSB and all the other Models were FSB 800.
I might be wrong but if your motherboard didn’t support the correct FSB your pc wouldn’t boot.
Please give more detailed specs of your pc.

I have heard that ASUS, ABIT and GIGABYTE are the best ones.

No, you're not wrong! Looks like I'm just stupid for thinking it was 400MHz.  Embarrassed The manual states FSB 533/400. I guess I just got stuck on the 400.

So, thanks for pointing that out!, you just saved me $150! Grin
