I read about some new AA on Guru3D and a lot of people were really talking it up and saying it was amazing, they were using registry tweaks to get this new AA called “Temporal AA” in Catalyst 4.6.  I did not have the time to start fiddling with my registry so I hung around and waited for it to be put into a new driver.  Well here it is, in Catalyst 4.7.  All I can say I OMG!!!!  This is amazing, fps is no different however slight juddering that I used to get over Heathrow has gone!  The IQ is as good as 6xAA aswell!  All I can say if you have an ATi card go and try it out.  You need the Catalyst 4.7 graphics driver and the 4.7 Control panel. (Link in my sig.)

Simply go into the control panel and turn V-sync on and turn “Temporal AA” on.  It does not matter on the setting for AA, it does not change.

Run FS9 and watch the very nice IQ, and note juddering gone!

Although my juddering was only slight (w/o TAA,i used to use 4xAA,) and only over the most dense areas, typically Heathrow and similar, I did notice a very dramatic reduction in the juddering (with TAA) however small it was.  Your FPS will unlikely change, but performance increases.

Go try them now!

Here are my results. Some nice improvement. Iv'e always used 1600x1200x32 thinking that was the best.  I'll now run 1280x1024x32 with max TAA settings.

First, with out any TAA,

Now with max TAA,

My most noticable improvements is the runway edges and ground textures.

Thanks for the post, you've changed my "visual" life!

What do computers and air conditioners have in common?...
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Unfortunately, I'd have to say these new drivers have made little to no change at all in my visual quality and performance... Sad

I installed the ATi cat 4.7's the other day and was very disapointed! My performance went down considerably Angry It was probably a corrupt install or something Undecided

Anyway, I installed the Omega 4.7 alternative this morning to see if that would make a difference (first time omega'er) and I am stunned! What have I been missing Shocked Now the old 9800XT is smoother then ever! No sign of the temporal AA though, but I ain't goin' back to ATi drivers now!

I have been a long time Omega user and I have to say, they really do the trick.

I found the TAA switch. It was a separate program within the Programs/Omega menu.

I did switch to the Omega drivers. Didn't notice any improvement. I tinkered with the overclocking, still, no improvement. Any tweak tips?
