You might have noticed when you download a plane, that in the guages folder there might be another RAR file. Once you extract this there are image files and .XML files.  ???

Gauges you download go directly into the FS9 Gauges folder UNLESS the author specifies that they need to remain in thier own folder.

XML gauges MUST stay in thier own folder, usually with an acft. specific name.

Just to elaborate on what Fireman has told you. XML gauges in CAB format are compressed files like zipfiles. They use the same icon as your default unzipper - WinZip, WinRar etc - but don't extract them. Paste these files direct to FS9\gauges. 3 basic types of gauges are commonly used these days. The old GAU format & 2 types of XML gauges. These can be configured in CAB format or in an ordinary folder. The files & folder in this shot are all gauges.
