MAybe it's time to open up a forum devoted to IL:2? Mostly because of people who post screens of it and feel like an "outsider"... Also, maybe we could have a section of downloads for it? Just a thought... Wink

As there arn't any downloads for Il2 it would be difficult to have a downloads section for it. And as we can't have a downloads section the need for a forum doesn't really exist. Besides, this is a Microsoft flight simulator dedicated site, so Il2 isn't really a part of it. Whats more we have enough Il2 vs CFS3 arguments here already without there being an Il2 forum to attract more Il2 diehards.

There are dls for IL-2, but I agree that this is not the place for it since this site is for M$ flight sims.

Nah, there's more than that.  There are lots of skins and missions for it.  I don't know a lot about it so I don't know if there are many add-on aircraft (or if there are any) but there are quite a few repaints and missions availble.

Goto Il2 SKins, they have thousands of skins to download.

But I agree that this is not the place for Il2.
This site is dedicated filled mostly with to M$FS addons,
not X-plane nor Il2 or anything else.
But would gladly accept them.

It isn't meant to be that way ... & we used to support FU2, etc.

Thing is that only MSFS, from it's origins in BAO before MS acquired it, has the open source allowing development by enthusiasts to the extent we have today.

If there was another FS allowing open & free development we certainly would support it & open a section for it.

We are primarily a PC FLIGHT SIMULATION website with an AVIATION background. Not an MSFS site.

Think Global. It's the world we live in.

Translation - if there starts to be an interest in IL2 discussions, and a surge in uploads - skins/etc. - then the Boards/Forums follow.
