Allright, this is my first "set" of pictures. These were taken about an hour ago at sunset on West Beach here on Whidbey Island. One of the most spectacular ones I've ever seen! Some of them still seem a bit blurry but just like what Rifleman said, they get better as time goes on 8) The waves were larger than normal as a new weather system moves in.
The body of land on the left side of the sun is Vancouver Island and one of the San Juan Islands sits on the right...
This was the climax of the event. The sun got between the clouds and the horizon and everything suddenly grew very bright. In the backround is a faint, silloutte of the Olympic Mountain Range. I would of gotten the taller peaks which are further to the left but they where engulfed in clouds and there was house in the way
I plan to submit this pic to the weather pix section of the local news website.
Catching the last rays
I think I'm starting to like this, lol

Nice one Tsunami. Shot #5 is a classic. Beautiful.
I would like to see the original in a larger resolution. It would make a nice desktop wallpaper. Maybe you should upload it somewhere. I'm sure the weather site will love it.

Thanks for all your replies! Here's a larger pic of #5. It's the largest I could get it to the actual size without going over the limits. Seems a little more clear on the desktop backround...BTW, this one made it to the
weather pix
